Every CFO signing off on AI seats is asking the same question: what are we actually getting for this? Anthropic is now trying to answer it inside the product.
The company has made three new features generally available for Claude Enterprise: smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets.
Smart reports
Admins pick a team, a date range and which Claude products to include. Claude then analyzes a sample of the team’s transcripts, groups the work into workstreams and shows the spend for each one, the deliverables produced and the most common points of friction, such as a missing connector or a failed tool call.
Each report ends with one list of recommendations, like recurring workflows worth turning into skills. Reports can also answer custom questions about model usage and cost, and owners can let non-admin team leads run reports for their own groups. Anthropic says the reports are meant for adoption and investment planning, not for evaluating individual performance or making employment decisions.
Early users cited by Anthropic include people at DoorDash and Docusign, who say the reports surfaced usage patterns and connector bottlenecks they hadn’t spotted.
Surveys and shared budgets
In-app surveys ask employees short questions, such as the most valuable thing they’ve done with Claude recently and what would break if the team lost access tomorrow. Responses can be exported to a spreadsheet.
Pooled group budgets give a team one shared monthly budget, so heavy users are less likely to hit an individual cap early in the month. Individual limits still act as a guardrail, members can request more from inside Claude, and billing admins get email alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100% of a budget.
Availability varies by configuration, including for organizations with HIPAA setups or customer-managed encryption keys.
Why it matters
AI adoption is moving from pilots to budget line items, and proving ROI is becoming a buying requirement. Tools that measure usage and cost will shape which AI vendors win renewals.
For IT vendors selling AI products or AI services, this is a reminder that buyers now expect measurable outcomes. Lead with use cases, numbers and adoption plans in your outreach, because that’s the language decision-makers are using internally.
