What is happening

Open CTI is the framework many telephony vendors used to put a softphone inside Salesforce. According to the official Salesforce Help article, it retires with the Spring ’28 release. Existing orgs get maintenance only until then. Salesforce’s developer guide asks teams to move development to Salesforce Voice.

Your migration options

Salesforce’s Trailhead module lists four Voice paths: Partner Contact Center with your existing vendor, two Amazon Connect options, and the fully native Agentforce Contact Center. Every path moves call data from Task to VoiceCall records and routes calls through Omni-Channel. See the migration guide for the technical details.
